Hand built (like all Santos bikes) and made with the same aluminium as the 2.6, but for wheels with a diameter of 28" (700CC). The Santos Travelmaster 2.8 Alu is designed for the touring cyclist who prefers riding on asphalt than on gravel and stones (although the latter is also occasionally a lot of fun). A bike for touring cyclists who want to bridge long distances in a comfortable and relaxed fashion.

The Santos Travelmaster 2.8 Alu is a bike that is the best choice for sporty touring cyclists. For example, cyclists who, in the summer, would go on a camping trip of a few weeks to Scandinavia, or who want to ride the USA Coast to Coast. Cyclists who ride to France, Spain or Portugal and in the spring and autumn also enjoy going riding for a few long weekends. Athletic cyclists who like to ride one hundred kilometres or more during the day, and in the evening set up their tent on a nice quiet campsite. Cyclists, therefore, who want to carry a relatively large amount of luggage, but still want to be able to have a great ride without feeling like they are sitting on a transport bike.
Cyclists who want to ride! For these cyclists the Travelmaster 2.8 Alu has been developed. Due to the oval down tube, it has a wonderfully sleek and sturdy frame, ensuring that the bike - even with heavy luggage – gives a very pleasant, sporty and comfortable ride.

Available in both Rohloff and derailleur versions
The frame of the Santos Travelmaster 2.8 Alu is available in six sizes and can accommodate a tyre width of up to 42mm .* The frame is available in 24 colors and in a derailleur versionor with the Santos eccentric bottom bracket for a Rohloff gear hub. Of course, it is also possible to build the eccentric bottom bracket version as a derailleur bike.

Because we recommend that women choose a mens' frame in touring bikes (these are stiffer than women's frames), it is also possible to build a bike with a mixed frame.
With its 28 inch wheels, this bike is perfectly suited for a trip to Santiago. The bike is built with all the special touring bike parts, so it's a true Santos Travelmaster, strong and reliable.
If you are going to Asia for a few months or even around the world, choose the men's frame (the 2.8 Alu) or for the 26 inch frames (the 2.6 alu made from aluminum or the 2.6 cromo made from steel).

For construction of the Travel Master frames, you can make choices from a special assortment of parts that we have selected for these bikes, using the customizer on this website. All these components have been tested in practice for many years and have proven to be the best of their kind. For example: Tubus carriers, Schwalbe Marathon XR tyres and our own heavy duty touring wheels (wheels that are hand built by us with extra strong spokes, DT ProLock spoke nipples with glue and special touring rims).

On all our Travelmasters we give a guarantee of 10 years on the frame and the cro-mo front fork.
