The Travelmaster 2.6 Alu is recognisable from afar as a real Santos. That is not so surprising. If you are a little closer it will quickly become clear that the frame of this ultimate touring bike is only designed for one purpose, to create an extremely solid touring bike.

A touring bike is not a mountain bike and the reverse also applies. So there were more than "a few tweaks" involved in transforming the first Travelmaster into the bike that won glorious victory in 2006, voted touring bike of the year in the magazine Op Pad. Thus, the chainstay was slightly lengthened - to avoid having the heels of your shoes kicking the rear bags. The headset was also made higher – as a result, you will sit less hunched over than on a mountain bike and will be able to look around without getting neck pain from doing so. Plus: that higher headset also provides the advantage that in the middle triangle of the frame, more space is created for the transport of large(r) water bottles.
The result is a sportily built, solid touring bike with lots of trimmings. The compact aluminium frame feels (according to Op Pad) stiff as a board and is available in five frame sizes that you can paint in a choice of 24 colours.

It is a bike that you can hang thirty pounds or more of luggage on, where you can mount 60mm width tires that will take provide a comfortable ride and good control on any road surface. Cycling on the 2.6 Alu is a dream, whether it is fully loaded or without any baggage. Every pedal, every push is effective. The bike is fast, maneuverable and very stable. For construction of the Travelmaster frames, you can make choices from a special assortment of parts that we have selected for these bikes, using the customizer on this website. All these components have been tested in practice for many years and have proven to be the best of their kind. For example: Tubus carriers, Schwalbe Marathon XR tyres and our own heavy duty touring wheels (wheels that are handbuilt by us with extra strong DT Alpine 3 triple butted spokes, DT ProLock spoke nipples and special touring rims).

On all bikes in the Travelmaster Series we give a guarantee of 10 years on the frame and the cro-mo front fork.
